Half Day Itinerary

If you have a half day, there are more choices you’ll have to make – any one of which will give you a unique experience. Stop first at the Marina del Rey Visitors Center for information and recommendations.

Harbor Cruises

When visiting L.A., make sure to get out on the magnificent waters of the Pacific Ocean. There are many public  on-the-water experiences available from Marina del Rey, ranging from harbor tours (seasonal),  gondola rides and sunset cocktail cruises, to dinner dance and Sunday Brunch cruises.

Coastal Bike Ride

Marina del Rey lies at the center of the Marvin Braude Bicycle Trail which stretches for over 20 miles along the Pacific coast. Bike rentals of all types are easily accessible here and there is plenty to explore on the well-paved paths. Pack a picnic and ride through the marina, then head south to pristine white sand beaches of Playa del Rey Beach, or go north to the more robust areas of Venice Beach and Santa Monica.

Boat Rentals and Parasailing

Rent a sailboat, jetski (seasonal), paddleboard, powerboat, electric boat or kayak and sail around the Marina! Waters are mostly calm in the harbor. For those more adventurous thrill seekers, try parasailing and it’s also fun to cruise up the coast to Venice Beach and Santa Monica in your own power boat.

Self-Guided Walks of the Marina

The marina is lined with miles of paved public walk paths along the harbor front. For those who love to walk exploring waterfront Marina Walk, Marina Peninsula and the Venice Canals are a relaxing way to learn about the community, get exercise and breathe in the warm fresh breezes of this seaport community. Pick up a free walking guide at the Visitors Center or download a printable copy.
