Saturday, February 04 - Uninstructed Model Painting

Marchese Fine Arts embraces creativity with weekly model painting workshops in the gallery, along Fisherman's Village. Models hold 3-hour poses each Saturday for two-three week cycles. Classes run from 1 - 4 p.m. Open, onsight enrollment at $20 per person; parking discounts. Free public viewing encouraged.

Tuesday, February 07 - Safe Boating Education Classes

Flotilla 12-42 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering a one night 'Suddenly in Command' course designed to offer helpful insight and instructions in the event of an emergency with a captain while at sea. The class covers how to control your boat, call for help, communicate your location, first aid, light boat repair, and prevention techniques. February 7, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. at California Yacht Club, 4469 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey. The $35 per person fee is due the first night and includes course materials and completion certification. Couples are discounted at $45 collectively if paid in advance. A unique opportunity to explore the salt marsh and dunes freely, accompanied only by docents at various stations offering expertise on the rare sights. 2 - 4 p.m. No reservations necessary. Please call for directions.
