Tony P's Dockside Grill

The robust menu at Tony P's has long made this restaurant popular for group dining, truly a "something for everyone" kind of joint. A newly updated menu design corrals the veg-friendly choices into a helpful box, where you'll find such gems as a stir-fry touting 10 types of vegetables, a veggie pizza with the trendy Beyond Meat brand of faux-sausage, and yummy appetizers like the Buffalo-style wingless wings made of cauliflower. Traditional diners pick from pages of other options, including prime surf and turf, spiced-up pastas, and seafood specialties. 4445 Admiralty Way. 310-823-4534.

Sweetgreen

Opened in fall 2017, this new addition to the Waterside shopping center on Admiralty was an instant success. It serves custom salads and grain-based bowls crafted before your eyes at the order counter. Though the ingredient combination is endless, your group obviously would need to be composed of greens eaters, as there aren't other menu items. Plant-based proteins such as tofu or chicken and trout give the dishes enough heft to make a meal. 4100 Admiralty Way. 310-340-6880.
