One of the best ways to get around Marina del Rey is the Water Bus, which starts running Thursday, June 20 (every Thursday-Sunday, see brochure for schedule). For $1 per passenger (cash only, one-way), you can explore the Marina and hop-on and off at eight different stops, including Burton Chace Park, Marina 'Mother's' Beach or Fisherman's Village. Strollers and bikes are welcome. Plus, this leisurely boat ride offers passengers both young and young-at-heart with delightful sightings of sea-lions, pelicans and other marine creatures.

Check out Thursdays at Beachside restaurant near Marina 'Mother's' Beach between 6-8 p.m. On Friday, experience live music at Sinder Lounge at the Marina del Rey Marriott during happy hour. Friday night fun continues down the road at Marina Grill & Bar -- enjoy cocktails and bites while a local musician performs on the patio from 5-8 p.m. Or slip on your dancing shoes and try Salsa at The Warehouse starting at 9 p.m. Join in on the free class before the floor opens to all at 10 p.m.
