The annual MDR Holiday Boat Parade is back this year! If you’re looking for holiday cheer, check out this weekend’s upcoming events and festivities in Marina del Rey.
SATURDAY: MDR Holiday Boat Parade
Watch festive lighted boats cruise through the Marina del Rey channel! Arrive early to find a viewing spot on the lawn at Burton Chace Park or along the waterfront at Fisherman’s Village. Presented by Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, the 2021 parade themed “Joy on the Water” is celebrating its 59th year. A brief fireworks show at 5:55 p.m. announces the start of the parade, which lasts until about 8 p.m. Free admission.

SATURDAY THROUGH DEC. 31: Marina Lights
Bring family and friends to walk throughout festive holiday lights wrapped around trees at Burton Chace Park. The dazzling lights and decor takes place nightly from December 11 through New Year’s Eve.
As part of the holiday boat parade festivities, enjoy carolers, hot cocoa, food trucks and photo opps from 4-8 p.m. at the park.

SATURDAY: Holiday Paddle and Costume Contest
Get your favorite ugly holiday sweater and join the first Holiday Paddle Parade and costume contest hosted by Pro SUP Shop at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Enjoy a stand-up paddle or kayak guided tour ($30 for paddleboard or single kayak; $40 for tandem kayak).

SATURDAY: FARMERS MARKET
Take in some Vitamin Sea and enjoy outdoor shopping at the Marina del Rey Farmers Market held on Saturdays year-round from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in County Parking Lot #11 at Via Marina and Panay Way. Shop for fresh flowers, fruits, handmade gifts and more.

SUNDAY: Holiday Movies on the Lawn
Cozy up and watch movies on the lawn at Jamaica Bay Inn located at Marina "Mother's" Beach. The movie Elf (PG) starts at 5 p.m. Grab your family, friends, or loved ones, dress warm, bring your lawn chairs and blankets! Specialty cocktails available and hot cocoa along with on-site restaurant Beachside's full menu.

SUNDAY: Killer Rides - Holiday Car Show
Have a merry Sunday by the sea at Killer Shrimp's annual holiday car show and toy drive in the parking lot of its waterfront restaurant space.
Spend the morning pouring over hot rods, exotics, motorcycles, classics, and muscle cars. Enjoy music, food, and photos with Santa, too. Please bring a new, unwrapped children’s toy to be donated to the L.A. County Fire Department. Free to attend.
