Holiday Events in Marina del Rey

The holiday season in Marina del Rey will offer locals and visitors a festive atmosphere including the return of Marina Lights at Burton Chace Park and the annual New Year's Eve fireworks show. This year, the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade will bring joy to the waterfront. The public is invited to walk, bike or paddle throughout the harbor to see the boats decorated in holiday lights. Take a stroll and shop throughout Fisherman's Village, Boardwalk Shops, Waterside Shops and nightly twinkling Christmas lights throughout December.

  • ANNUAL HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

    SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2021 at 6 p.m.

    Watch the 59th annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade. Catch a brief fireworks display at 5:55 p.m. before the parade begins. Enjoy musical entertainment from carolers, food truck fare and photo opportunities from 4-8 p.m. For details, visit mdrboatparade.org.

    Head to Burton Chace Park to enjoy the annual fireworks display and Watch live broadcasts of the east and west coast countdowns to the New Year with fireworks at 8:59 p.m. and again at 11:59 p.m.

Location

Marina del Rey is located on the Los Angeles coast, 4 miles north of LAX. From Interstate 405, connect to westbound Highway 90, which terminates in Marina del Rey. Make a left onto Mindanao Way and follow it to the end at Burton Chace Park. 13650 Mindanao Way.

The Marina has 12 public parking lots. Pay attendant if present, or use the pay-and-display kiosks (accept cash and Visa/Mastercard). Click here for an interactive map. The lots closest to Burton Chace Park are:

THE FREE RIDE

BEACH SHUTTLE

The free weekend beach shuttle runs on a loop between Playa Vista, the Marina, and the Venice Pier with shuttles arriving approximately every 30 minutes. Service runs from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Fridays–Saturdays, and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sundays and holidays. For New Year's Eve, service will run from 6 p.m.–1:30 a.m. Enjoy direct drop-offs and pick-ups at the Burton Chace Park entrance starting at 6 p.m. Click here for a map.
