Enjoy the holiday season in Marina del Rey with our signature winter events. Burton Chace Park is the place to be for festive fun, including nightly Christmas lights throughout December, as well as the Snow Wonder festival and Holiday Boat Parade.

 

December 1
4-8 p.m.

Holiday Movies & Caroling

The Wonderelles will perform upbeat holiday music in a 50s/60s style from 4 to 6 p.m. Following, enjoy a screening of A Christmas Story. Bring your own low-back beach chairs or picnic blankets. A heating station will be provided, but please dress warmly. Free admission!

December 8
12-6 p.m.

Snow Wonder

Burton Chace Park is transformed into a winter wonderland with over 80 tons of real snow, used to make a sledding hill and snow-kissed pine forest. Also enjoy crafts, music, face painting, and food trucks. The entire event is free, with food for purchase.

December 8
6-8 p.m.

Holiday Boat Parade

Watch a trail of lighted boats cruise through the main channel. The popular viewing places are Burton Chace Park and Fisherman's Village. Download a Marina map below for parking lot information.

December 15

Dressed in Dickensian costumes, the Voices of Christmas are strolling carolers who will sing a capella holiday classics from 4 to 6 p.m. Following, enjoy a screening of The Santa Clause. Bring your own low-back beach chairs or picnic blankets. A heating station will be provided, but please dress warmly. Free admission!

December 22
4-8 p.m.

Holiday Movies & Caroling

The Wonderelles will perform upbeat holiday music in a 50s/60s style from 4 to 6 p.m. Following, enjoy a screening of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Bring your own low-back beach chairs or picnic blankets. A heating station will be provided, but please dress warmly. Free admission!

Holiday Movies & Caroling

Dressed in Dickensian costumes, the Voices of Christmas are strolling carolers who will sing a capella holiday classics from 4 to 6 p.m. Following, enjoy a screening of a sing-along version of Frozen. Bring your own low-back beach chairs or picnic blankets. A heating station will be provided, but please dress warmly. Free admission!

December 31
7 p.m.-midnight

New Year's Eve Celebration at the Park

Head to Burton Chace Park for a Glow Party, 7 p.m.–midnight, with face painting, DJ music, dancing, and food trucks. Watch live broadcasts of the east and west coast countdowns to the New Year – with fireworks at 8:59 p.m. and again at 11:59 p.m.

Snow Wonder

Eighty tons of snow are trucked in to Burton Chace Park to make a sledding hill and snow-play area. Pummel your pals with balls of snow – then take cover behind a Christmas tree!

Holiday Boat Parade

Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village are the best places to watch the trail of lighted boats cruise the main channel. A 10-minute fireworks show at 5:55 p.m. will announce the start of the parade.

New Year’s Eve

Burton Chace Park is the staging ground for the Marina’s NYE celebration. Don’t miss the Glow Party, 7 p.m.–midnight, with activities the whole family will enjoy. Watch a live broadcast of the east and west coast countdowns to 2018, plus fireworks at 8:59 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.

GETTING HERE

Marina Lights and Snow Wonder take place at Burton Chace Park. You can also watch the Holiday Boat Parade and New Year's Eve fireworks at the park, as well as Fisherman's Village. Click the button to download a printable map with public parking options.

LOCATION

Marina del Rey is located on the Los Angeles coast, 4 miles south of Santa Monica. From Interstate 405, connect to westbound Highway 90, which terminates in Marina del Rey. Make a left onto Mindanao Way and follow it to the end at Burton Chace Park. 13650 Mindanao Way.

THE FREE RIDE

The Free Ride offers free daily transportation in the Marina from noon till 9 p.m. If you see a car, wave it down. BEACH SHUTTLE

The free weekend beach shuttle runs on a loop between Playa Vista, the Marina, and the Venice Pier with shuttles arriving approximately every 30 minutes. Service runs 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Fridays–Saturdays, and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sundays and holidays.
