Enjoy the holiday season in Marina del Rey with our signature winter events. Burton Chace Park is the place to be for festive fun, including nightly Christmas lights throughout December, as well as the Snow Wonder festival and Holiday Boat Parade.

    NIGHTLY, DECEMBER 1 - 31

    Enjoy the festive glow at Burton Chace Park nightly in December, 4-10 p.m. Make it a fun family outing with dinner at one of the Marina’s waterfront restaurants, then a walk around the park to enjoy the holiday light displays.

  • SNOW WONDER

    DECEMBER 8

    Burton Chace Park is transformed into a winter wonderland with tons of real snow and a sledding hill (sleds provided for your use). Also enjoy crafts, music, face painting, and food booths. The entire event is free, with food for purchase. Snow Wonder is open from noon to 6 p.m.

  • HOLIDAY MUSIC

    SELECT NIGHTS

    Enjoy live holiday music in Burton Chace Park from 4-6 p.m. December 1 & 22: The Wonderelles perform holiday songs in a ’50s rock style. December 15 & 29: Dressed in Dickensian costumes, the Voices of Christmas are strolling carolers who will sing a capella holiday classics. At each event, a holiday film will be shown from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Hot cocoa and churros are available for purchase.

  • HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

    DECEMBER 8

    Watch a trail of lighted boats cruise through the main channel. Narration on a PA system is available at the two most popular viewing places, Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village. For 2018, 4th District L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn serves as the Grand Marshal, and the parade theme is Winter Water Wonderland. A brief fireworks show at 5:55 p.m. announces the start of the parade, which lasts until about 8 p.m. Admission is free.

  • NEW YEAR'S EVE

    DECEMBER 31

    Head to Burton Chace Park for a Glow Party, 7 p.m.–midnight, with face painting, DJ music, dancing, and food trucks. Watch live broadcasts of the east and west coast countdowns to the New Year, with fireworks at 8:59 p.m. and again at 11:59 p.m. Admission is free, and food is available for purchase.

NYE MIDNIGHT ON THE MARINA

December 31, 5 p.m.–1 a.m.

The Marina del Rey Hotel’s annual Midnight on the Marina event will sell out, so get tickets soon. Located on the Bali Way peninsula, the hotel offers panoramic views of the fireworks. A lineup of DJs will supply party tunes all night long. Opt for the Bottomless Bubbly or Open Bar ticket packages and you’re set for the night! SALT Restaurant & Bar will be serving a four-course, family-style menu (separate reservations required), available between 5 and 10 p.m.

December 13, 7–10 p.m.

Firestone Walker Brewing Company’s Propagator restaurant offers an intimate evening with R&D Brewhouse Manager Evan Partridge. The seven-course small-plate dinner is paired with seven different beers.

NEW YEAR'S EVE AT BEACHSIDE

December 31, 5 p.m.–1 a.m.

Savor an exclusive NYE menu offered from 5 to 10 p.m. at this Marina hot spot located steps from the sand at Marina “Mother’s” Beach. Live music is offered on the patio from 6 to 10 p.m. Enjoy a lineup of holiday cocktails all night with extended bar hours till 1 a.m. Reservations for full dining are strongly recommended tonight.

NEW YEAR'S EVE AT CAST & PLOW

December 31, 5:30 p.m.–1 a.m.

This waterfront restaurant located at The Ritz-Carlton will offer two dinner seatings on New Year’s Eve. Harbor-facing patio and indoor seating showcase prime views of both fireworks shows. First up is a three-course prix fixe meal offered between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. The second option is a four-course prix fixe dinner offered between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Reservations are required.

December 31, 5:30 p.m.–1 a.m.

Enjoy music, dancing, and window views of the fireworks. In the restaurant and patio areas, reserve a table for after 9 p.m. and you get to keep it for the rest of the night! In the Tavern, DJ entertainment will keep you dancing till the wee hours. No cover charge for dinner service patrons, and $20 at the door for those coming just to party. Celebrate 2019 with a midnight balloon drop and a champagne toast.

December 31, 5:30 p.m.–midnight

There’s not a bad seat in the house at this romantic waterfront restaurant and lounge with a window wall for viewing the New Year’s Eve fireworks. A special five-course NYE dinner menu at $90 per person is served 5:30–10:30 p.m., and late diners can stay until midnight for the second fireworks show.

Marina Lights and Snow Wonder take place at Burton Chace Park. You can also watch the Holiday Boat Parade and New Year's Eve fireworks at the park, as well as Fisherman's Village. Click the button to download a printable map with public parking options.

Location

Marina del Rey is located on the Los Angeles coast, 4 miles south of Santa Monica. From Interstate 405, connect to westbound Highway 90, which terminates in Marina del Rey. Make a left onto Mindanao Way and follow it to the end at Burton Chace Park. 13650 Mindanao Way.

THE FREE RIDE

The Free Ride offers free daily transportation in the Marina from noon till 9 p.m. If you see a car, wave it down. BEACH SHUTTLE

The free weekend beach shuttle runs on a loop between Playa Vista, the Marina, and the Venice Pier with shuttles arriving approximately every 30 minutes. Service runs 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Fridays–Saturdays, and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sundays and holidays. For New Year's Eve, enjoy extended service until 1:30 a.m. Enjoy direct drop-offs and pick-ups at the Burton Chace Park entrance starting at 6 p.m. Click here for a map.
