Marina del Rey’s 4th of July Fireworks

Come to L.A.’s Marina for the best fireworks show on the Westside!

Basics

The fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. and lasts 20 minutes.

Views from the Shore

Enjoy the show with synchronized music at either Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village.

Views from the Water

Charter a yacht to get the ultimate close-up view. Find information about companies properly licensed to operate charters in the Marina here. Reserve early!

Parking

Los Angeles County Parking lots charge $7-$15. Click here for a map. This holiday attracts several thousand visitors, so parking will be limited, especially after 5 p.m. Parking in restaurant lots and at the Waterside shopping center is allowed only for patrons of those businesses. See “Getting Here” section below for alternative transportation from lots to the main viewing spots.

Street Closures

Law enforcement authorities control street closures in the area. We will post a map closer to July. Although closures are generally planned to start at about 7 p.m., the shut down may occur earlier at police discretion, usually due to full parking lots. Therefore, if you have dinner reservations or want to be sure you can access the fireworks viewing areas, we recommend that you arrive in the Marina before 4 p.m. and plan to stay the rest of the day.

Dining on the
Waterfront

Marina del Rey is home to over 60 full-service restaurants, representing cuisines from around the globe. Whether you’re in the mood for fresh-caught seafood, fine Italian, primo steak, Korean barbecue, or American classics, you’ll find a top-notch outlet in L.A.’s Marina. If you’re looking for a restaurant on the waterfront, we’ve included a list of options on the printable map found at the bottom of this webpage. GETTING HERE

To help ease parking in the immediate area, consider these other ways to get to the viewing points at Burton Chace Park and Fisherman's Village.

WATERBUS

The WaterBus will be operating from 11 a.m. till midnight on July 4. These boats pick up from 8 stops in the Marina and cost just $1 each trip. Click here for a map.

BEACH SHUTTLE

The Beach Shuttle offers free transportation on weekends and holidays on a set loop between Playa Vista, Marina del Rey, and the Venice Pier. On July 4, the Beach Shuttle will operate 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., so you'll need to arrange a ride home after the fireworks. Enjoy direct drop-offs and pick-ups at the Burton Chace Park entrance during those hours. Click here for a map.

THE FREE RIDE

The Free Ride provides free, on-demand transportation around the Marina daily from noon to 9 p.m., and they'll run a bit longer on July 4. If you see one of the Free Ride cars, just wave down the driver and hop in. Or, text your pick-up location, destination, and passenger count in advance to 323-435-5000 (no calls, please). The usual 10-15 minute wait for your driver's arrival may be longer at high-traffic events. Gratuity for your driver is appreciated. Click here for a flyer with a map of the service area.

UBER/LYFT

Call your rideshare driver to a location away from heavy traffic flow. We recommend finding a safe meeting place with a visible landmark, such as a gas station or restaurant, and do not attempt pickups and drop-offs along the street.
